Lepidoptera
As a youth, when not building or disassembling something electronic, I spent
much time in the forests and fields around my home - developing an interest in
entomology, particularly Lepidoptera (Butterflies, Skippers, and Moths).
These pages document my recent attempts at breeding various locally threatened
lepidoptera species so that we might raise and release specimens in order to
increase their numbers locally.
I began this project in ernest after I was given several plump Luna Moth cocoons.
It has been a fascinating experience, and I plan to attempt raising other species as well.
By the way, does anyone know how many trees 663 caterpillars eat? ;-)
