MicroChip PIC imbedded micro-controller programming.
Here is an old DIY
ISA bus PIC 16C5x and 93xx/24xx serial EPROM programmer that I designed
in 1993. The software and hardware designs were based on specs from the
MicroChip Data
Book - I had never
seen
a PIC at that point. It has a programmable power supply that allows verification
of the EPROM burn at various Vcc levels. They have since shifted to serial
programming EEPROM on most new PIC designs and I haven't bothered to update
the software. The UV eraser doesn't get used much any more either. For anyone
interested in an inexpensive programmer for every PIC except the latest
designs, check for PICALL.

In the future...
There will be articles related to constructing and reverse-engineering
electronic hardware and software. C++ and Assembly language
programming and disassembly will also be covered.
Stay tuned...
